Human Fraternity Foundation participates in the International Day of Human Fraternity

The Human Fraternity Foundation participated in the International Day of Human Fraternity organized by the UAE Embassy in Cairo, which was held at the headquarters of the Arab League. The Foundation was represented by:

Mr. Piero Luigi Rolando Donato: Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Human Fraternity Foundation, President of the Italian Community in Egypt and the Italian Society in Cairo.
Dr. Gamal Zekrie Besada: Member of the Board of Directors of the Human Fraternity Foundation, Development Expert, Secretary General of the Shepherd and Mother of Light, and Member of the Board of Trustees of the House of Abraham.
Eng. Milad Lahzi Gaid: Secretary General of the Human Fraternity Foundation, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director of Tiewrap for Technology Company.
Ms. Monica Youssef Fayez: Head of Local and International Relations of the Human Fraternity Foundation.

Text of the Foundation's speech at the conference:

The Abu Dhabi Document begins with these words: "Faith leads a believer to see in the other a brother or sister to be supported and loved… believers are called to express this human fraternity by safeguarding creation and the entire universe and supporting all persons, especially the poorest and those most in need."

The document affirms that "the true teachings of religions call for adherence to the values of peace, mutual respect, human fraternity and coexistence, and the dedication of wisdom, justice and charity."

No document, regardless of its content, can change thought, culture and behavior unless it is believed in and adopted by people who are courageous, far-sighted, determined and persevering.

This document was born on the good land of the United Arab Emirates, which His Holiness Pope Francis described during the signing ceremony of the document with these words: "Therefore, I would like to express my appreciation for this country's commitment to accepting and guaranteeing freedom of worship, confronting extremism and hatred. In this way, while the fundamental freedom of the individual to declare his or her personal faith is enhanced, which is an essential necessity for the human being to achieve his or her self-realization, it is also done so that religion is not exploited and is in danger of denying itself by accepting violence and terrorism... It is comforting to note how in this country investments are being made not only in the extraction of the earth’s resources, but also in those of the heart, in the education of young people."

The United Arab Emirates has committed to supporting and sponsoring the Abu Dhabi Document. The Higher Committee for Human Fraternity was established in Abu Dhabi, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, following the approach of the founder, His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the wise leader of the Arabs, may God rest his soul in peace, presented the world with the "Abrahamic House" as a place for dialogue between followers of religions, a place for mutual respect, and a model for coexistence and tolerance. The United Arab Emirates has also included the text of the document in the school curriculum to create generations that believe in brotherhood, solidarity and coexistence.

We are honored to confirm that our foundation, the Human Fraternity Foundation, is also one of the fruits of the Document on Human Fraternity. It is an Egyptian entity that seeks to translate the document into tangible charitable works and actions to serve all brothers and sisters in humanity without any discrimination, exclusion or distinction.

As Secretary General of the Human Fraternity Foundation and on behalf of Monsignor Dr. Youannis Lahzi Gaid, President of the Foundation and former Secretary to His Holiness Pope Francis, I am pleased and honored to express my deepest gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, for his generous support to our foundation, whether in the project of Dar Wahat Al Rahma for the care of orphans or the project of Bambino Gesu Hospital for Maternity and Childhood.

I would also like to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, for his generous support and great encouragement to our foundation.

We also thank the sisterly State of the Emirates and Her Excellency Ambassador Maryam Al Kaabi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, for their support for this event and for their support for the Human Fraternity Foundation and its charitable and humanitarian initiatives.

Our sincere thanks to the General Secretariat of the Arab League for hosting this event and to all the gentlemen at the UAE Embassy in Cairo and the distinguished attendees.
